Come celebrate the launch of MISN’s walking tour app—a Toxic Tour of the City of Toronto’s financial district! In celebration of our launch, we invite you to gather for free food and guided tours. Join us for a shared meal at 6:00pm, after which we will have several groups leaving between 6:30-7:30 to take everyone around on the tour length of their choice, and a chance to be one of the first to try out our new app. Bring your headphones!
RSVP here so we can prepare enough food and get the app to you:
More info:
The Mining Injustice Solidarity Network (MISN) created an app based on our 2017 “Belly of the Beast” bus tour. This tour highlights some of the most harmful and toxic mining projects globally – including right here on Turtle Island. MISN took inspiration from the Aamjiwnaang First Nation toxic tour of Chemical Valley. Our goal is to expose how Toronto’s downtown core funds and supports ongoing exploitation and colonization around the world.
Along with exposing Toronto as a global mining hub, we hope to challenge meaningless corporate promises of social responsibility and sustainability by drawing attention to ongoing environmental and social harm. This app will be updated regularly to ensure that participants have the most relevant information. We hope this app will foster greater public engagement to increase accountability for these companies.
